Four L’s for the day . . . any day – but especially today

To settle our minds and our hearts is to settle them on the One Who Is Peace. But that often requires a determined effort until the habit becomes part of your daily walk with the Lord. Even then, there are forces working against us in the world that, try as they might, battle to unsettle us.

So, I’m recycling this post for all those whose hearts and minds are racing with all that’s streaming. Consider it an invitation to commune with God over His Word. Allow each “L” to revive you, as grace washes over you.

Listen

Listen to Me, you who pursue righteousness,

you who seek the LORD

(Is 51:1a ESV)

Have you heard enough from the pundits with all that’s wrong in this maddening world? Are you desperate for something right? In your pursuit, draw near Righteousness Himself. Listening to Him speak through His written Word is to listen to Truth. Only there can righteousness be found.

Look

Look to the rock from which you were hewn,

and to the quarry from which you were dug

(Is 51:1b ESV)

Look to the Rock, Jesus Christ. Behold the Incarnate God. Look to Him and He will direct your steps, steady your mind, and strengthen your heart. Then, with your perspective properly aligned and faith renewed, you can face the day.

Linger Long

Blessed are all who wait for Him!

(Is 30:18)

Don’t rush right off. Still. Wait expectantly before the Lord. Bask in glory . . . soak in grace. And when you rise from His blessed embrace, you’ll feel loved.
