Thoughts on Gospel Grace

For God saved us and called us to live a holy life.

He did this, not because we deserved it, but because that

was his plan from before the beginning of time—

to show us his grace through Christ Jesus

(2 Tm 1:9 NLT).

The grace of God, appropriated through Jesus,

is the golden thread that weaves itself

through every fiber of the gospel message.

For purely by grace—

grace given in Christ—

has He saved us and called us to a holy life.

Grace is the right arm of God’s magnificent love—

for it is a love, through grace, that saves;

and a grace that sustains.

It is a grace for salvation

and sanctification—

and every step in between.

For all of life is a daily turning

to God, for grace—

and the gospel good news is: He gives it!

Day-by-day,

moment-by-moment . . .

Breath-by-breath.

Divine grace answers faith’s call—

to strengthen hearts and strides—

as we journey forth in hope.

To each one of us

grace has been given

as apportioned by Christ (Ephesians 4:7).

A lavish and most generous portion—

from Father, through Son and Spirit—

for abundant life indeed!

Let’s give thanks that we even can

approach our Creator, as Father in heaven;

and celebrate the grace of our Savior and King.
